The 2025 GMC HUMMER EV SUV is a big, powerful, and stylishly rugged vehicle equally at home on the highway and in the great outdoors. It’s also fully electric, making it an environmentally friendly choice. As your GMC dealership, we want to tell you about some of its outstanding features that redefine electric SUVs.

CrabWalk

When you set out to conquer the great outdoors, some rugged and rocky areas can be too much for most vehicles to handle, as they’re impossible to maneuver in. The HUMMER features a unique driving option that can get you into and out of these hard-to-reach areas. This revolutionary steering mode can be accessed by bringing your HUMMER to a stop, centering the steering wheel, and holding down the steering selection button for four seconds.

Once activated, your wheels can now move diagonally. It does this by allowing the rear wheels to mirror the front wheels, so they can turn up to 10 degrees in either direction. It only works at slow speeds of 1.2 mph or less and will automatically switch off if you increase speed to 25 mph or more for ten seconds. While it’s most useful for negotiating rough terrain, you can also use it to park in that otherwise inaccessible parking space you’ve found.

Ultravision

Many vehicles have rear or forward-facing cameras, and side-view cameras are also available to provide enhanced views of the area around your vehicle from a bird’s-eye perspective. The HUMMER takes enhanced vision to the next level with the available Ultravision eighteen camera system.

Camera views include forward and rearward views, underbody forward and rearward, underbody split screen, overhead, and surround view.  The cameras are specially protected and waterproof, allowing you to make fine driving adjustments with ease.

Regen on Demand

When you drive, the battery powers the electric motor or motors, depending on whether you’re driving the EV 2x or 3x. Regen on Demand enables you to convert the energy used by braking into electricity to recharge the battery. When you hit the brakes on a non-EV vehicle, the energy produced by braking is wasted.

When you hit the brakes on your HUMMER, in contrast, the motor temporarily turns into a mini generator. This allows it to capture the kinetic energy produced by braking and convert it into electricity, which is then fed back into the battery. Regen on Demand also reduces wear and tear on brake system components, extending their working life.

These are just a few of the ways the HUMMER EV stands out from other electric vehicles. Contact us today at Royal Buick GMC in Vestavia Hills, AL, to take the HUMMER EV SUV for a test drive and experience everything it has to offer.
